Counseling Sessions

Connecting to your heart, to God, and to others.

We believe that your heart matters. Many of us have not been taught to pay attention to what our heart is saying and yet we know that “all of the issues of life” flow out of it, nor have we been taught to trust it. Part of the work that we do here at Divine by Design is to give you tools through healing to learn to connect to your heart, connect to God and others. When you learn to live from your True Self, you are able to be present, give and receive love and pursue your dreams. When we are disconnected from ourselves, we are disconnected from others.

Tele-health Counseling

Sometimes meeting in person is a difficult feat, especially if you are from out of town, immobile, traveling or scheduling doesn’t allow the extra travel time. To make counseling more accessible, I conduct sessions through Zoom, Skype or Facetime in a confidential and private manner. Counseling through these methods isn’t for everyone…but I would encourage you to give it a try.

Who Is This For?

Divine by Design Counseling walks alongside you to face your pain and engage your heart in a way that brings healing and wholeness.

Do you feel like your life isn’t working as it should but you don’t know what to do? On the outside, it seems everything is okay; but on the inside your heart is telling a different story. Your head knows something different than what your heart is telling you. Brokenness of the heart can show up in negative and destructive ways, and sometimes, these ways are hard to identify as problems because you have learned to manage them: insecurity, fear and anxiety, self-hatred, bitterness and jealousy, control and manipulation, perfectionism, worry, numbness, lack of boundaries, codependent behaviors, emotional dependency, distant connection to God or others, difficulty staying present in the moment.

Maybe you know that your heart is in pain. No matter what you have tried, you just can’t seem to move past certain behaviors, emotions or belief systems – feeling constantly dragged down by the pain of the past. Despite your best effort to change and experience freedom, the brokenness inside of your heart keeps causing all sorts of damage, the longer it goes unhealed. You find yourself sabotaging relationships and jobs and unhealthy coping mechanisms.

Testimonials

Amy

“I love Sarah and her approach to Christian counseling. Each session is very intentional and God-honoring, allowing the Holy Spirit to play an active role in every moment through prayer, to lead and direct. Because of this, I’ve learned how to better discern the Lord’s voice and realize how much Jesus really does love me and want healing for the parts of my heart and mind that have been broken and damaged. I’m so thankful I took the time to go!”

Sarah truly has changed my life through counseling and the connection she has fostered between us. She facilitates a space that allows me to be completely vulnerable and feel entirely safe and valued at the same time. Through this environment, Sarah cultivates a space where Jesus can exchange what the enemy intended for evil and pain for Jesus’ love and truth. My counseling experience with Sarah can be equated to fostering a space where Jesus loves me back to who He originally created. It has been a road of deep healing and endless freedom, and I’m so grateful and honored that Sarah has walked with me on it.

Sarah will always tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. This was crucial in my case, and helped me move out of shock and denial so that my family and I could leave an unsafe and toxic environment. She has given me practical tools to heal and grow that I can practice daily and will pass on to my children.  I am forever grateful for Sarah’s heart to fight for me and leave space for Holy Spirit to accomplish the deep inner healing we all desperately need and desire.

I have been seeing Sarah for counseling for the last few years and I can whole heartedly say that being able to speak with her has been a life-changing and growing experience. Sarah’s wisdom has not only led me to grow and work through my struggles as a person, but also in my faith. Her wisdom and simple willingness to hear and understand the struggles I brought to her has helped me in so many ways. With Sarah’s help (and Jesus’ partnership), I have been able to work through and overcome deeply rooted past pain and become a better, more confident person. I will always be thankful for the opportunity to meet with Sarah!

About Me

Sarah J. Lee, MSMHW

I work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, fear, lack of boundaries, codependency, relational issues, spiritual discontentment, lack of connection and issues as a result of trauma/pain. My desire is to help all individuals connect to God in a way that feels real and true, walk-in self-acceptance, engage with others in meaningful relationships and to explore and experience who God created them to be. With extensive training and learning in brain science and theology (neurotheology) as well as internal family systems (from a Christian perspective) root issues can be healed and you can live a life of “righteousness, peace, and joy.”
